TOGA! TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

Hey guys! I would give a partial thanks to kitty144, for providing the coverage of the 1st and 2nd semi-finals of our favorite show. So, as we go down to this, I made a decision that Eurotalia is the official home of Hetavision!

Okay enough of this nonsense. As we are going to conclude our favorite annual tradition held in Su-san's house, the winner of the contest will take a beautiful Swedish Smorgasbord. Prep your snacks, drinks, your leftover food, call your besties, and FANBOY AND FANGIRLED ALL YOU LIKE! And also, prepare for some Graham Norton jokes on this (he always doing this every year) so make sure to prep your paper and pencils for this! The romance and the voting drama are here to witness it too! The worst part: someone's gonna award the evil but cursed 'Nul Points' to the country who got last place. The interval act will be even more amazing when special guest Justin Timberlake (with America!) will perform 'Can't Stop the Feeling' in its world premiere performance!

So, are you ready to cheer your favorite country? Well fear not, let's get the party started and let the GRAND FINAL TOGA PARTY BEGIN!!

EXTRA NOTES: Romania (aka vampire boy) was originally scheduled to be performed in the contest, but he got no choice but to withdraw the competition due to unpaid debts. Portugal also had to withdraw too because his national broadcaster have done a bad job promoting music-based media and of course, a badly structured selection process. So both Romania and Portugal will be in the Green Room.

The Toga Party Participants (in running order):
Belgium, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Bulgaria, Sweden, Germany, France, Poland, Australia, Cyprus, Serbia, Lithuania, Croatia, Russia, Spain, Latvia, Ukraine, Malta, Georgia, Austria, United Kingdom and Armenia

Hetavision 2016: 1st Semi-Final!!!

Yo peeps! This is the AWESOME Kitty144 speaking! Did you all have a good year? I hope so! Also...YOU ALL READY TO 'COME TOGETHER' FOR THIS YEARS EUROVISION/HETAVISION EVENT?!? I know I am!

As you all probably remember Swedens entry 'Heroes' won last year so this years party is at Swedens house. (I wonder if the 'tradition' will continue of Denmark winning after Sweden XD?) And a lot has already happened: Bosnia & Herzegovina will return after a three-year absence(Hima~ Official art plz~), Bulgaria and Croatia are returning after a two-year absence(we sort-of have an official art of Croatia right?) and Ukrinae is back after a year absence.

Portugal won't be here this year since his national broadcaster did a bad job at promoting their music-based media as well as having a badly structured selection process. And you should pay your debts or you'll be forced to withdraw which is what happened to Romania this year. Poor guy. At least he can still cheer on his adorable little brother Moldova who will be preforming in the second round.

And guess who's back? AUSTRALIA!!!! Unlike before he won't go straight to the final but will participate in the 2nd Semi-Final.

And we (finally!) have official character designs for the Czech Republic and Slovakia! I can't WAIT for more official character-designs of the other participating country's to appear~.

Anyway, the 1st Semi-Final will be (Tuesday) May 10th at 21:00 CEST. For the time in your timezone, click here.

The 2nd Semi-Final will be on (Thursday) May 12th and the Final will be on (Saturday) May 14th.

For first timers:
'Heta'visoin is the name given to this event since it's us Hetalia fans watching the Eurovision Song Contest. Now, what's the Eurovision Song Contest? To make it short, it's a song contest that's been going on since 1956(make music not war). Country's that are part of the European Broadcasting Union are invited to compete(which is why coutntry's like Israel and Turkey can participate) (or exceptions are made, like with Australia). The contest used to be done all on one night but since there are so many country's participating there are now 2 semi-finals before the Grand Final.

How it begins: Each participating country has it's own selection/song contest first in order to pick it's contestant for the contest. Then, the contestants from those country's are divided in half and preform in which ever semi-final they're in and that country can vote in that semi-final(how each country votes/counts the votes varies slightly from country to country). The top 10 from each semi-final go on to the Grand Final.

The exception is for the Big Five(formaly Big Four) and the Host Nation. The Big Five are five country's that automatically qualify for the Grand Final: France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and Italy(the newest). There 'Big Five' have countributed the most financially to the contest so they were given special status(this isn't really a 'guarantee to win the contest' thing because since the introduction of this 'Big Five' in 2000, only Germany has won which was in 2010). Also, the Big Five can vote in the Semi-Finals but for only one of them.

And so in the Grand Final, all the winners of the Semi-Finals, the Big Five and the Host Country compete to win the contest. After all the preformances all of the country's, even the one's who didn't qualify for the final, vote on the winner and whoever wins gets to host the next contest.

This is not a RP, it's just a group chat. The purpose is to have fun and geek out to Hetalia :D.

EPILEPSY WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of the country's preformances will feature flashing lights and may cause an epileptic attack on those who are sensitive.

1st Semi-Final Line-up:
Finland, Greece, Moldova, Hungary, Croatia, The Netherlands, Armenia, San Marino, Russia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Austria, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, Iceland, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Malta.

Where you can watch it:
If you are apart of the European Broadcasting Union you can watch it on your country's channel.
If you're not, you can watch it on the Official Eurovision site via the livestream here.

If you wish to watch interviews of the artists, dress rehersals, songs from past Eurovisions and more check out the Official Eurovision Youtube channel.
If you want to get the latest news regarding Eurovision check out the Official Eurovision Web Page where the livestream will also take place.
Although Romania will not be preforming in the contest, they did pick a song before they were forced to withdraw. It's 'Moment of Silence' written and preformed by Ovidiu Anton and you can watch it here.

And, as I posted last year I'm not very tech savy so do expect some errors/problems/me not knowing what I'm doing XD and more links are expected to appear once they become avaliable or someone posts them.

Don't forget to bring your snacks and drinks and I can't wait to see you all again!!!!
"Building Bridges - From east to west, from north to south, from the past... to the future!"

Just #ICYMI, ten countries have punched the ticket to the Final were Liet, Montenegro, Norge, Israel, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Berwald, Cyprus, Slovenia and Feliks.

Last year I hosted the party with the theme of bloodbath, and Roderich Edelstein takes the big Danish from Denmark's big-ass kitchen that has the size of a warehouse.

Boys and girls, dubbed as the 'WrestleMania of song contests', we are going to conclude this community's favorite annual grand tradition, where 27 (The Big Five + Austria and special guest Australia) of Europe's finest are performing and singing it out to take home the biggest prize and Europe's honor as Eurovision champion!

I never knew that I made such Grand Final posts for the last two years ('13 and '14) and now this is my third time hosting it. Let's give a round of applause for kitty144 for covering the two semi-final posting parties for the last few days.

Make sure to prepare your snacks, booze, pub food, even your leftover food in the fridge, gather and call your friends, take your notebook and pens to prepare to copy some Graham Norton quotes, the voting drama and romance (shipping couples also included!), and yes of course... FANGIRL ALL YOU WANT!!

This year's winner of the contest will receive a royal dinner from Roddy himself, plus a taste of his sachertorte!

Who knows on what happen to the Eurogeddon, plus Prussia, Ukraine, and the others will join the party as well into the green room! Will big bro France give redemption with his entry? Can Epicstonia have the best performance? Can our dear Iggy had the moves in his performance with flying mint bunny on his side? Will Liet do the same teaching as Tino did in the semi-final? Will Norge give love this time? Can Berwald and his technomagic heroic performance bringing him to victory? Can dear Cyprus win the hearts of many? Is Aussie will taste his first victory as the guest of honor? Will Belgium's move win for her brother Ned? Can Roderich retain the title this year while setting his piano on fire? Will Greece and his cats regaining their honor and their finances? Can dear Ludwig smoke it out in his performance? Will dear Feliks become more beautiful like in the shoujo manga? Can Latvia injected his own love for his Baltic brothers? Can Vampire Boy's song bringing his first victory? Will Oyabun survive the Eurogeddon with the cursed ring in his possession? Can the Goulash Boss Elizabeta had her singing prowess to the limit? Will Ivan's performance doing it for his sisters? And can Veneziano, Romano and Grandpa Rome bringing redemption and victory tonight?

But there is a big, nasty twist, because someone gets the cursed 'Nul Points' and put into the Eurovision Hall of Shame!

The answers will find out in this year's Grand Final! So... let the EUROGEDDON begin!!

Spain: Romano, give me your hand!
Romano: First, give me the RING!!

The Eurogeddon Participants (in running order):
Slovenia, France, Israel, Estonia, United Kingdom, Armenia, Lithuania, Serbia, Norway, Sweden, Cyprus, Australia (the 60th anniversary guest), Belgium, Austria (this year's host), Greece, Montenegro, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Romania, Spain, Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Albania, and Italy

EPILEPSY WARNING

To recap, the country's that got through the 1st Semi-Final were: Albania, Armenia, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Estonia, Serbia, Georgia and Belgium.

Who knows what's gonna happen during this round? Knowing our characters it should be something XD. Will Poland's sweet, pink song get him into the next round? Cyprus is making a return after withdrawing in 2014 but why does he look like Estonia? Can the stars Switzerland shoot down last time help him to shine? Will Sweden be the hero this time? Will Portugal finally cross the sea that separates him from the winner's circle? Can Princess-Iceland charm his way into the final? Will Latvia's injection of love be enough to get him into the finals at last? Can someone please give Norway a hug (you're no monster baby)? Will Lithuania's song give him more attention this time? And who is he thinking of during this song? You decided ;).

18th-May-2015 03:25 pm - Hetavision 2015!
Hi! I really enjoyed the Hetavision events posted here in Eurotalia and I would like to participate again but I haven't seen an update from it so I'm not sure if there will be a Hetavision party here. I have also looked elsewhere and I can't find any where else a Hetavision party would be. So I thought I'd try my luck and create one. If anyone has any objections that I've seemed to have hijacked this community, please say so and I'll remove it to somewhere else.

I'm not very tech savvy so it's not gonna look very nice/professional and there's bound to be some mistakes but I'll try my best so bare with me. To be honest this is the first time I've create a thread so I'm not even sure I'm doing it right or if I should do/create something else to do this event and if anyone has any suggestions or can offer me some advice that would be nice. (Ok, enough blabbing XD)

This will be the 1st Semi-Final Posting & Viewing Party Thread. I'll make another for the 2nd Semi-Final and Final Posting & Viewing Party.

1st Semi-Final Line-up:

p.s. Looking at the previous Hetavision Party posts I had noticed that it appeared that only a certain amount of posts/commnents would appear and that it I couldn't see the 'next' button to view more of them but as it turns out it's there. You just need to highlight it. I post this because I don't want anyone to think that we've stopped or something.
